-Preparation:
The NVR needs an internal hard disk drive for recording. Without the hard disk drive, the system can show live viewing, but can’t record or playback.
Please make sure the hard drive has been installed:

If yes, please right-click the mouse on the monitor, then go to the playback>storage>disk management to check the HDD status:
If the Status shows the hard drive list and capacity, it means the hard drive is functional.
If there is nothing on the storage or the status is abnormal, please follow the link to modify the hard drive first:

Steps:
Please go to storage>recording>basic>tick the Motion option>draw the boxes to set up the time you want to record>click apply to save it:
For example: The purple boxes below means the system will record from 02:00 to 00:00 on Sunday:
If you want to set up the motion detection record on 7/24 hours, please draw all the boxes into purple.
If you don't know how to draw boxes, you can click advanced>choose the channel number>set up the date>input the time to record and select Motion>click apply to save it:
