Please go to Advanced-->HDD Info and check the HDD status:
If the Status shows Normal, it means the hard drive is functional.
If there is nothing on the storage or the status is error, it means something is wrong.
Please try the troubleshooting methods below.
1. If the hard drive is not from us, please make sure your hard drive is for surveillance use, not for PC use. The type should be SATA. SATA2(3GB/s) or SATA3(6GB/s)is recommended, and We recommend 5400 RPM and the brand can be Dest digital or Seagate.
2. If the status is error, click format to format storage the hard drive. Please note that all recording files on the hard drive will be deleted after formatting.
3. If the hard drive can't be recognized, please open the cover of NVR. Uninstall and install HDD several times. Here is the method: https://support.sannce.com/hc/en-us/articles/900000433303
4. Install the hard drive and put it close to your ear to check if you can hear some noise. One hour later, use your hand to touch the hard drive to check if it is warm. If you can not hear any sound and the surface of the hard drive is not warm, it can prove the hard drive is not even powered up. Please share our results.
5. Unplug the NVR from power and plug it in again.
6. Restore NVR to factory settings. Please click Advanced-->Restore-->Restore factory Settings:
7. Change another adapter to power with same volt on the NVR.
Please refer to this example below to find the power specification:
Note: This example of the power specifications is: DC12V 2A on the bottom TAB of the system, please select DC 12V, more than 2A to power your NVR.
8. Change another DVR/NVR to test this hard drive if you have another DVR/NVR.
Or please change another hard drive if you have one.
