After you connect the DVR/NVR to a monitor/display/TV, it shows no signal or just black and blank on the monitor(Attached picture for your reference), you can do some troubleshooting to find out the problem.
There are several possible causes of your DVR/NVR that do not show its setting panel. You may follow the troubleshooting tips listed below to solve the problem.
Solution 1: Check if both ends of the HDMI or VGA cable are firmly connected to the DVR/NVR or monitor. If not working, please try another HDMI or VGA cable to connect the device.
Solution 2: Ensure that the monitor input mode is set to the corresponding VGA or HDMI mode. For example, if you are using HDMI cable, please set the mode of your monitor to HDMI. Some monitors may have multiple VGA or HDMI interfaces and you can try switching between VGA2/VGA1/HDMI1/HDMI2. If there are additional monitors, try using a different monitor.
Solution 3: Verify if the DVR/NVR is powered on by the original power cord. You can check if the power status LED on the front panel of the DVR/NVR is lit. If not working, please help try another power cord with the same specification to power on the DVR/NVR.
Solution 4: If a hard drive is installed in the DVR/NVR, please power off the DVR/NVR, remove the hard drive from the cables, and try powering on the DVR/NVR without the hard drive.
